What are research peptides?

Research peptides are short chains of amino acids made for laboratory study, such as in-vitro (cell and tissue) experiments and analytical work. They are supplied as a dry, freeze-dried powder in a sealed vial. Read more in What Is a Peptide?

Are research peptides for human use?

No. Every product sold by Prime Peptide Solutions is for laboratory research use only. It is not a drug, food or supplement, and it is not for use in humans or animals. Buyers confirm the research purpose at checkout.

What does a certificate of analysis (COA) show?

A COA is a lab report for one batch. It names the compound and batch, and shows the test results: usually HPLC purity and a mass spectrometry check that the molecule has the expected mass. Our COAs are listed on the COAs page. See How to Read a Peptide COA and How to Verify a Peptide COA.

Who tests Prime Peptide Solutions' peptides?

Batches are tested by independent third-party labs, including ILS and Kovera. Each report is listed on the COAs page as it becomes available, with the batch it belongs to.

What does "99% purity" mean?

HPLC purity is the share of the sample's detected material that is the target peptide. A 99% result means about 99% of what the HPLC detector saw was the peptide. It is not the same as net peptide content, which also counts water and salts. See Net Peptide Content vs HPLC Purity and Understanding HPLC and Mass Spec.

What is a lyophilized peptide?

Lyophilized means freeze-dried: the water is removed at low temperature and pressure, leaving a stable powder that keeps far longer than a liquid. See Lyophilization Explained.

How should sealed peptide vials be stored?

Keep sealed vials refrigerated at 2–8 °C, or frozen at −20 °C for longer storage. Keep them dry and away from light, and avoid repeated freezing and thawing. See How to Store Research Peptides.

How long do peptides last after reconstitution?

It depends on the compound, the diluent and how the solution is kept. Most are kept refrigerated and used within a limited time. See How Long Do Reconstituted Peptides Last? and the Peptide Reconstitution Guide.

What is bacteriostatic water?

Bacteriostatic water is sterile water with 0.9% benzyl alcohol, which slows the growth of bacteria so a vial can be opened more than once. It is a common lab diluent for reconstituting peptides. See Bacteriostatic Water Explained or the Bacteriostatic Water product page.

Why does a reconstituted peptide look cloudy?

Cloudiness can come from the diluent, the temperature, mixing too hard, or the peptide's own solubility. See Peptide Cloudy After Reconstitution?

How are research peptides made?

Most are built one amino acid at a time by solid-phase peptide synthesis, then purified by HPLC and freeze-dried. See How Research Peptides Are Made.

What do catalog names like GLP-3 RT mean?

Catalog names are short product codes. For example, GLP-3 RT is the catalog name for retatrutide and GLP-2 TZ for tirzepatide. See GLP-1, GLP-2 and GLP-3 Naming Explained.
